The journey begins with Jett and John as they set out to discover people and organizations who are spreading light and love back into the world. The first guest is Camp4Heroes a non-profit dedicated to serving veterans and first responders transitioning back into civilian living.
In episode 2 we get the first look at the bus that will become Songs on Wheels and the realization that John and Jett have their work cut out for them.
We also are introduced to an organization who partners service dogs with veterans and people with autism, fittingly named Canine Companions.
John and Jett visit with a partner organization called United Herculean Group. They sit down
with the president Henry Gardner as they discuss his vision for providing affordable housing to
those who have served and also to the working class American. The bus gets cleaned out and
finally running smoother as the team prepares to take the bus to Camp4Heroes for the major
renovation. We also get to see how John and Jett and their circle unwind with music in their down time.
John and Jett catch up backstage with Gary Sinise before he performs at the Villages in Florida. They also sit down with Marie Bogdonoff of Villages for Veterans and discuss the events she and her organization put on in order to raise funds to support veterans. The bus leaves John's yard to head for Camp4Heroes and a makeover.
John and Jett pay respect to all those who are struggling with PTSD in honor of PTSD awareness month but let it be known that it is a service and an awareness that needs to be addressed every month. Kyle Baker is the guest for this episode of Power of patriots. Kyle is a police officer serving in the greater Charlotte NC area. Kyle experienced a multitude of traumatic experiences which led him to starting his own foundation...The Partner Foundation.
It’s the 250th Birthday of our amazing country and John and Jett celebrate it with
Camp4Heroes on the 4th of July. The hosts try out some new paddle-boats at the camp just
before celebrating the significant birthday of America. In this episode John and Jett ask the
question of several of their guests “What does this milestone of liberty mean to you? What
does freedom mean to you?” The varying answers were raw and honest and well thought out
on the meaning of freedom.
